Reds make casual enquiry for Ribery
Manchester United have made a casual enquiry for Franck Ribery, according to Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness.
The 26-year-old French international, who netted nine times in the Bundesliga in 2008/09, continues to be linked with a string of European football's big hitters, including United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
And it has now emerged the reigning English, European and World champions have made contact with the German giants over a possible deal for the former Marseille man.
However, any move is likely to hinge on whether FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Old Trafford for Real Madrid this summer.
"I would really not even answer the phone if the amount would just be £34m," Hoeness told Sport-Bild.
"There was a casual request from Man United. But then it depends on Cristiano Ronaldo."
