Feyenoord beat Twente to reach Dutch Cup final

ROTTERDAM - Second-half strikes by Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Roy Makaay helped Feyenoord fight back from an early goal to beat Twente Enschede 2-1 in the Dutch Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.

League leaders Twente completely dominated the first half against a defensive home side and Steve McClaren's team went ahead three minutes from the interval when Bryan Ruiz found his way through the Rotterdam defence after sloppy defending by Georginio Wijnaldum.

Feyenoord hit back when a combination between Makaay and Denny Landzaat gave skipper Van Bronckhorst the chance to equalise eight minutes into the second half.

From that moment the match flared up and seven minutes before time Leroy Fer set up Makaay to fire Feyenoord into the cup final.

Feyenoord face arch-rivals Ajax Amsterdam or second division side Go Ahead Eagles Deventer in the final on April 25 in Rotterdam.
