York & Forest Green keep Cup dreams alive

LONDON - Non-league clubs York City and Forest Green Rovers can entertain hopes of a lucrative draw against a Premier League side after reaching the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Both accounted for minor league opposition, with York beating Cambridge United 2-1 and Forest Green overcoming Bath City by the same scoreline.

Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition at the third round stage, the draw for which takes place on Sunday.

League One Southampton, FA Cup winners in 1976 and beaten finalists in 2003, progressed after beating Northampton but 2004 finalists Millwall, also in League One, must replay against non-league Staines Town after a 1-1 draw.
