Mark Lomas is a football journalist who contributes to FourFourTwo, BBC Sport, The Athletic and a range of international publications. He began his career with ESPN in London before moving to the Middle East and has since reported on the game across four continents. He has covered major international tournaments and interviewed big names like Neymar, Didier Drogba and Wayne Rooney, but is usually more drawn to stories beyond the game’s traditional heavyweights - especially in Africa and Asia. Mark has couch-surfed through Ukraine, broken bread with fans in Iraq and partied with Cape Verdean supporters. All in search of a good story... or at least an average anecdote.
