Biglia eyes Liverpool move
Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia is hoping to join a Premier League club this summer, according to the player's agent.
The 23-year-old Argentine has made 89 league appearances for the Belgium outfit since arriving from Independiente in 2006, and has been capped at both U17 and U20 level for his country, helping the South Americans win the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship alongside Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
The central midfielder, who has been tipped to star for Diego Maradona's senior national side at next year's World Cup, is now seeking a high-profile move in order to improve his chances of making the plane to South Africa.
And, according to the player's agent, he would love to team up with Liverpool midfielder and fellow countryman Javier Mascherano.
"We know there is interest in Lucas, and they [Anderlecht] know that he is keen on moving to England," Barry McIntosh told Sky Sports News.
"Lucas wants to play for Argentina, and he knows playing in England is a fantastic showcase for him to display his talents.
"He has already shunned offers to move elsewhere. He is good friends with Javier Mascherano having played with him in all the youth teams and he has seen what a big success he has been in England.
"He would love to play with Javier again at senior level, and we think that is very achievable."
