Tottenham in talks to bring Keane back

Manager, Harry Redknapp is believed to have made an improved cash offer for the Republic of Ireland international, with Keane subsequently travelling to London to discuss rejoining the north London outfit just six months after departing for Anfield.

Keane has struggled to make an impression on Merseyside since joining for £20 million in July, scoring just five Premier League goals in 19 appearances.

While heading in the opposite direction to Anfield could be diminutive Real Madrid striker Javier Saviola, who has been linked with a loan move to both Portsmouth and Tottenham.

However, the Argentine may instead find himself bolstering Liverpool's forward line should Keane return to Spurs.

He would be the third former Tottenham player to rejoin the club this month, following the signings of Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda.
