Zidane: Ribery should sign for Real

The 26-year-old continues to be linked with a string of European big hitters, including Real, Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea, despite the reigning German champions insisting their prize asset is not for sale.

And although Chelsea are believed to be the favourites to land the former Marseille man's signature - according to Le 10 Sport, World Cup winner Zidane says his fellow countryman would be better off at the Bernabeu.

"I hope he will want to come to Real Madrid," he told Canal+.

"It is better to have such a player in your team. If he gets an agreement to leave, he may want to play in Spain.

"Everything has to be done for him to sign at Madrid. The aim is to regain prestige for the club. His signature could help."
