Dunfermline appeal against Cup expulsion

Dunfermline Athletic have appealed against their expulsion from the Scottish Cup for bringing on a banned player in a match they won 7-1.

The Scottish FA said in a statement on Monday it had received the appeal and it would be heard within seven days by an independent panel.

First division Dunfermline were punished last week for bringing on the ineligible Calum Woods (pictured) after 61 minutes when they were already 4-0 up against Stenhousemuir in a fourth-round match.
