Dortmund deny reports of Shanghai SIPG bid for Aubameyang
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not the subject of a €150million bid from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG, the club have said.
Borussia Dortmund have rejected reports they received a sizeable offer from Shanghai SIPG for star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chinese Super League club, coached by Andre Villas-Boas, offered a fee of €150million for the Gabon international.
However, Dortmund have insisted no such bid has been received for the 27-year-old striker, who has scored 20 in 22 games for Dortmund in all competitions this season.
"Borussia Dortmund has nothing on the table regarding this matter and we do not deal with hypothetical things," spokesman Sascha Fligge is quoted as telling German news agency DPA.
Shanghai SIPG have already flexed their financial muscle with the capture of Brazil international Oscar from Chelsea for a record-breaking €60m, the 25-year-old joining compatriot Hulk at the club.
Carlos Tevez and Axel Witsel have also joined the CSL revolution in recent weeks, the pair joining Shanghai Shenhua and Tianjin Quanjian respectively on vast wages.
