England boss Southgate lauds record-breaker Rooney

England manager Gareth Southgate paid tribute to "outstanding" Wayne Rooney after the Three Lions captain broke Manchester United's all-time goalscoring record on Saturday.

Rooney netted a 94th-minute free-kick for United to earn a 1-1 draw at Stoke City in the Premier League, and that was enough to move beyond Bobby Charlton onto 250 goals for the Old Trafford club.
