At a ceremony in his home city of Rosario, where Bielsa steered Newell's to two league titles and the Libertadores Cup final in the 1990s, a stand was also named after former midfielder Gerardo Martino, now Paraguay coach.
Bielsa, 54, was Argentina coach for six years, winning the Olympic gold medal in Athens in 2004 after his team failed to progress from the group stage at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea when they were title favourites.
