Spurs set for Barca friendly at Wembley

Harry Redknapp will pit his wits against Pep Guardiola this summer, with Spurs set to face Barcelona in a prestigious pre-season friendly at Wembley Stadium. The Catalan giants have confirmed on their official website that they will be taking part in the match on July 24, before facing Egyptian side Al-Ahly on July 26. Speaking of the tour, Barcelona club spokesman Alfons Godall said: “The conditions for the trip are ideal for the team’s initial training sessions but also it is good economically.” Barca have spent part of their previous two pre-seasons in Scotland, racking up comfortable wins over Hibs (6-0) and Dundee United (5-1) last summer. Spurs have already confirmed pre-season matches at Exeter on July 15 and at home to Olympiakos on August 9.
