Thousands of Senegal fans took to the streets of Dakar to celebrate their national team's victory over Ecuador on Tuesday and qualification for the last 16 of the World Cup.
The Lions of Teranga sealed a place in the knockout stages for the second time in their history thanks to a 2-1 win on Tuesday.
Champions of Africa earlier in 2022, Senegal came into this World Cup without their star player Sadio Mane because of injury but advance to the last 16 after victories over Qatar and Ecuador, having lost their opening game against Netherlands.

The win on Tuesday sparked wild celebrations in Dakar and all across the country as fans waved banners and flags, raised procession torches and danced in jubilant scenes.
Senegal made it to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2002, when they beat holders France in the group stages and beat Sweden in the last 16 before going out to Turkey.
This time, the Lions of Teranga could face England in the last 16 after finishing second behind Netherlands in Group A.
