Manchester United formally part ways with Sir Dave Brailsford
The board re-shuffle has been officially confirmed with Sir Dave officially stepping down
Manchester United have confirmed changes to their board of directors with Sir Dave Brailsford formally departing the club hierarchy.
Brailsford had arrived alongside Sir Jim Ratcliffe following Ineos' partial takeover of the club in 2024.
However, the cycling figurehead stepped down from his day-to-day duties at Manchester United last summer to shift his focus back to overseeing Ineos' Tour de France campaign.

Brailsford's termination of appointment as a company director was posted to Companies House on May 7, with the termination data April 30.
Simultaneous with that, United confirmed the appointment of Rob Nevin as a director, effective from May 5.
The Telegraph report that Brailsford had been influential in appointing Dan Ashworth as sporting director - a move that proved to be very short-lived.
Brailsford is also credited with having overseen a £50m revamp of United's training ground at Carrington, among other performance-based operations.

Nevin was already announced as a director when Ineos took their stake in United in 2024.
United's corporate entity is split between Manchester United Football Club Limited, which is registered in England and Wales - that's what shows on Companies House - and the ultimate parent company, Manchester United plc, which is registered on the Cayman Islands and trades on the New York Stock Exchange.
Nevin's formal appointment to Manchester United Football Club Ltd following Brailsford's exit therefore just entrenches Nevin as a formal director of the club's UK-based operating company.
Nevin was already on the board of directors for Manchester United plc, which holds overall control of the UK operation.
