Pitso: We have not reached the level that I want
Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane feels his side have not reached their full potential, despite winning five trophies in just nine months with the Egyptian giants.
The Red Eagles were recently crowned Caf Champions League champions following their 3-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in Casablanca, Morocco last Saturday evening.
Mosimane has now guided the team to back-to-back Champions League titles and earned his third title in the continental competition.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor is delighted to have delivered on his promise of securing the club’s 10th Champions League trophy, while reserving special praise for his player’s performance throughout the competition.
“We feel good. We made a promise to win the tenth cup and we have delivered the tenth cup. I must say congratulations to the boys, who have done very well,” Mosimane told his club’s official website.
“I would like to congratulate the club president Mahmoud El Khatib for the support he gave me and for believing in me.
“We have not arrived where I want the team to come to. There is a lot of improvement that needs to be done. We have to strengthen the team to make it stronger, especially because we want to do well in the Fifa Club World Cup.

“I am only here for nine months. The players do understand my strategy and you can see how they move and how they pass the ball but it has not reached the level that I want.”
