MOSCOW - Russia midfielder Vladimir Bystrov has rejoined former club Zenit St Petersburg from Spartak Moscow, ending protracted negotiations between the two Premier League sides.
On Friday Zenit announced on their website that they had signed a five-year contract with the speedy winger only for Spartak to issue a denial. A few hours later, however, the Moscow club confirmed the deal.
Bystrov, 25, a product of Zenit's youth system, joined Spartak in 2005 in a move that angered St Petersburg fans.
Media reports said big-spenders Zenit had paid 15 million euros for Bystrov.
