PARIS - France striker Louis Saha has been ruled out of Wednesday's friendly against Spain at the Stade de France because of a thigh injury, a French federation spokesman said on Monday.
The Everton player had been declared unfit after undergoing medical tests earlier on Monday at the Clairefontaine training ground, he added.
Saha will be replaced by Panathinaikos striker Djibril Cisse who was added to the squad as cover on Sunday.
Saha had been recalled more than three years after he earned the last of his 18 caps in a 1-0 win against Greece in a friendly, in November 2006.
Cisse, 28, last played for France in a 2-0 win against Ecuador in a friendly in May 2008. He has scored nine goals from 37 caps.
