Boca tipped, Veron's big tongue and Ali G
Today: Boca to win new season, San Lorenzo in surprise loss, Estudiantes score two in eight minutes, Argentina beat Guatamala 5-0.
Boca to win title
At the risk of turning this blog into a Mystic Meg/Russell Grant-style astrological prediction column, we can now reveal â in light of the fact Mars is in conjunction with the tropic of Cancer and a comet, or something â that Boca Juniors will win the clausura title in the Primera.
But don't just take it from me - although I'm prepared to go on record and say that it's my prediction too - take it from a survey of every coach in the Primera league and one of their players. Daily sports paper Olé printed the results and they read as follows:
Who will be champion? Boca 11 votes, River 4, Veléz 4.
Most important player? Román Riquelme 7 votes, Alexis Sánchez (River) 4, Juan Sebastian Verón 2.
Top goalscorer? MartÃÂn Palermo 13, Germán Denis (Independiente) 4, Sebastián Abreu (River) 2.

San Lorenzo in surprise loss
After all the trumpeting and confidence brewing in the San Lorenzo camp with the arrival of Andres D'Alessandro, they immediately fell at the first, with a 2-0 loss to Newell's Old Boys in Rosario.
Here is the view from a happy Newell's terrace and see the goals here. D'Alessandro didn't play but is expected to take on San Martin at home next Saturday.
Estudiantes score two in first 10 minutes
Estudiantes scored two blinding goals against Banfield within the first 10 minutes last night in a thrilling game that had all the best of Argentinian football: great goals, a sending off that wasn't a sending off (ref Cristian Faraoni did a 'Graham Poll'), rolling around on the floor and a mild altercation. Ah it's good to back in the season.
See the highlights and Veron's remarkably large tongue.
Ali G watches Argentina beat Guatamala
Argentina's under 23 squad easily thrashed Guatamala in Los Angeles, in the presence, it appears, of Ali G (see 20 seconds into this). See the goals here.
