High profile - Las Vegas Lights partner with marijuana dispensary
Las Vegas Lights have become the first professional sports team in the United States to partner with a marijuana dispensary.
Las Vegas Lights have got a new high-profile sponsor – marijuana dispensary NuWu Cannabis Marketplace.
The United Soccer League club from Las Vegas, who rather appropriately use the hashtag #LightItUp, got social media channels buzzing by announcing the unprecedented partnership on Friday.
Medicinal cannabis is legal in the state of Nevada and a promotional video published by the club showed mascot Cash the Soccer Rocker visiting the NuWu store.
"We love Las Vegas. We love Downtown Las Vegas," Lights owner Brett Lashbrook said.
We were going to wait till 4:20 pm, but we were just too excited We are proud to announce our partnership with !The first professional sports team in the U.S. to partner with a marijuana dispensary.ONLY. IN. VEGAS. April 13, 2018
"We're not ashamed of where we're from. We fully embrace it. Nuwu has invested all sorts of money and resources into growing Downtown.
"It's a traditional sports sponsorship. It's in a completely regulated industry and this is part of the stigmatisation of it."
