Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has rubbished reports linking him with a move to European Cup winners Barcelona.
The Russian international joined the Emirates Stadium outfit from Zenit St Petersburg at the beginning of February for £15 million, and enjoyed an explosive start to his Premier League career, netting six league goals in 12 appearances, including four against Liverpool at Anfield.
However, recent newspaper reports quoted the diminutive playmaker as saying: “If I have the chance to play for Barcelona, I'd be really happy.”
While the player's agent, Dennis Lachter, then revealed that the Catalans had been invited to make a bid for the 28-year-old this summer, although he later insisted his words had been fabricated.
And Arshavin has now moved to put an end to speculation tipping him to switch the Emirates Stadium for the Camp Nou during the close-season, insisting he is going nowhere.
"That is nothing more than a rumour," he told Sport Express.
"I'm an Arsenal player and the only thing I am thinking about is preparing for the new season."
