Joel Glazer calls controversial Super League plan ‘new chapter’ despite backlash

Six English clubs have agreed to join a controversial breakaway European Super League which Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer hailed as a “new chapter” despite widespread condemnation.

The bombshell plan, announced on Sunday, saw United join Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and six other European clubs in creating a rival competition to the Champions League.
