Lindelof agent confirms bids for reported Man United target
Benfica have received formal offers for Victor Lindelof, with Manchester United believed to be among the defender's admirers.
Victor Lindelof's agent has confirmed Benfica have received formal bids for the defender amid ongoing speculation Manchester United are keen to sign the Sweden international.
United manager Jose Mourinho suggested on Wednesday that he is ready to bring in one player in in the January transfer window, with Lindelof supposedly topping the Portuguese's wishlist.
The 22-year-old's representative, Hasan Cetinkaya, has now acknowledged there is serious interest in the centre-back and they are ready to sit down with Benfica to discuss a potential transfer.
"There are offers. That is correct. But Victor has not agreed terms with any club. He still has an ongoing contract with Benfica," Cetinkaya told Aftonbladet.
"Have Benfica already agreed a transfer fee with any club? I cannot comment on that... And I cannot comment on any specific clubs. I can only confirm that Benfica have received offers and that it is up to them to consider those bids.
"I wil sit down with Victor and with Benfica [to discuss his future]. We have to think things through carefully. Victor is still young and already playing for a big club that is fighting for titles and are in the Champions League.
"He is a key player at Benfica. You have to be careful with your decision and think about what is best for him right now."
