CONAKRY - Clubless defender Dianbobo Balde has kept his place in Guinea's squad for their World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso on October 11, the Guinea Football Federation announced.
Balde, who has been on trial at Toulouse in France after being released by Scottish club Glasgow Celtic, is part of a 22-man squad for the match in Conakry despite not seeing regular competitive action for several months.
It will be the first match for new Guinea coach Mamadi Souare, who was named this week to replace Aboubacar Titi Camara, fired after Guinea lost their last qualifier in Malawi.
Guinea are virtually out of the race for a place at the 2010 finals but still on course to qualify for next January's African Nations Cup finals.
