Tosic eager to impress

The 22-year-old Serbian arrived from Partizan Belgrade in January, making two league appearances for Red Devils in the second half of the campaign as Sir Alex Ferguson's side secured an 18th league crown.

And the youngster, who has been in action for the Serbia U21 side in the European Championships in Sweden, revealed he was ready to pack up and return to eastern Europe after just a few weeks having experienced the rough and tumble of English football.

However, having adjusted to the new lifestyle, the left-winger, who has been capped 14 times by the senior Serbia team, says he is now eagerly anticipating the start of the new season, with Tosic hopeful of being given the opportunity to eventually replace the Real Madrid-bound FIFA World Player of the Year.

“In a few games for the reserves, the players kicked me and I was wondering 'what is going on, I am going home, I cannot play here'. Then I got through that, and now it's normal for me," he said in the Manchester Evening News.

“My best position is on the wing, either one. My left foot is stronger but I can play on the right and come inside. The people from Manchester think I can play better on the left side.

“When we go on [pre-season] tour I hope I'm going to get a chance and I'm ready. I want to try to have a breakthrough."
