KUALA LUMPUR - Maldives club VB are banking on player power to take them to the next stage of the AFC Cup as well as sell tickets for their home match against South China in the competition next week.
The Maldivian side take on South China at Male's National Stadium on March 17 and the VB players will be asked to sit in makeshift tents to help sell cut-price tickets.
"We have set up three tents in different locations of the city," VB's Chief Executive Ibrahim Gahthan told the Asian Football Confederation website.
"The tents will have some entertainment but the main attraction will be our players, who will help us sell the tickets as we are targeting around 8,000-10,000 fans."
The Maldives champions are hoping to cash in on the buzz generated in the Indian Ocean island nation after the team's 3-2 opening win over Indonesia's Persiwa Wamena.
