Boost strength and build endurance

Balance-based exercises are a beautiful thing for anyone who wants to improve their football, and often overlooked: you’re playing a game in which you’re going to get buffeted in all directions for 90 minutes, so why not boost your ability to stay on your feet and fight for the ball?

Exercise gurus Back2Action have devised a great little workout to do just this: it involves getting on an inverted Bosu ball with some heavy weights, if you dare – but stick with it and you’ll soon be reaping the benefits upright on the pitch, rather than face-down in a puddle…
