Belgium and France lock horns for a place in the UEFA Nations League final in Turin on Thursday, as both countries look to bounce back from disappointing Euro 2020 campaigns.
A supremely talented Belgian squad again fell short at a major tournament over the summer, as they lost 2-1 to eventual winners Italy in the quarter-finals.
Things went even worse for world champions France, who were beaten by Switzerland on penalties in the Last 16 in one of the Euros’ biggest upsets.
This is the second edition of UEFA’s new international tournament, with Portugal winning the inaugural trophy, and features the four group winners of the League A section.
Belgium reached this stage by topping Group A2 ahead of England, Iceland and Denmark, with Chelsea front man Romelu Lukaku scoring five goals along the way.
France went unbeaten as they pipped Sweden, Croatia and Portugal to first place in Group A3.
The winners will face Italy or Spain, who face off in Milan on Wednesday, in the final.
“There is a title at stake; we have a semi-final to play against one of the best teams in the world. With Italy and Spain on the other side, there are four of us fighting for this title,” France boss Didier Deschamps said.
“We did everything to qualify for this final phase in a very tough group. We want to get this title. Before there were two titles: the Euros and the World Cup. Now there is the Nations League. This is our goal.”
Deschamps left his top scorer from the group stage and France’s second-top scorer of all time, Olivier Giroud, out of his squad for the finals but welcomed back defenders Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard.
Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante will miss out after testing positive for COVID-19.
Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne is fit again for Belgium after missing last month’s World Cup qualifiers, but Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke was dropped from the squad.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm BST on Thursday, 7 October, and UK viewers can watch it on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Ultra HD. See below for international broadcast options.

VPN guide
Use a VPN to watch UEFA Nations League football from outside your country
If you’re out of the country for a round of fixtures, then annoyingly your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You'll be blocked from watching it, which is not ideal if you’ve paid up for a subscription and still want to catch Steve Bruce’s extra-red face without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.
But assistance is on hand. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. All the info going between is entirely encrypted – and that's a result.
There are plenty of good-value options out there, including:
ExpressVPN including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
FourFourTwo’s brainy office mates TechRadar love its super speedy connections, trustworthy security and the fact it works with Android, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, PS4 and loads more. You also get a money-back guarantee, 24/7 support and it's currently available for a knockdown price. Go get it!
NordVPN with quality mobile and desktop apps
A cheaper option and almost ExpressVPN's equal when it comes to quality, too. A single subscription covers six connections, so you can use it on mobile, laptop, streaming devices and more, all at the same time.
Surfshark offers a great VPN at a fraction of the price
It's clear to see why Surfshark is top of TechRadar's best cheap VPN table – it combines an excellent product with bargain pricing, starting at £2/$2.50 a month!
