Ukraine Euro 2024 squad: Serhiy Rebrov's full team
The Ukraine Euro 2024 squad has been finalised ahead of the tournament
The Ukraine Euro 2024 squad has been finalised by manager Serhiy Rebrov, and they'll prove tough opponents for any side.
Despite only just managing to scrape through to the tournament in Germany by the play-offs, the Ukraine Euro 2024 squad has plenty of talent that can trouble sides in Germany. With Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko, Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk and La Liga top scorer Artem Dovbyk, there's no reason why they can't compete with the rest of the Euro 2024 squads.
Plus, there's good reason why the play-offs were need for Ukraine in qualifying. As well as being handed a tough qualifying group alongside England, Italy, North Macedonia and Malta, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine forced the national team to play all of their nominal home games in other countries.
Nonetheless, they only missed out on second place based on their head-to-head record with reigning European champions Italy, after both nations finished level on points with 14 apiece, claiming draws against England and (decisively, in the final game) Italy along the way.
That meant Serhiy Rebrov's side would have to go through the play-offs – where they staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-final, before doing similar to see off Iceland in the final for a berth at Euro 2024.
Drawn into Group E, there's potential for Ukraine to reach the knockout stages, too, with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania standing in their way.

Ukraine manager: Serhiy Rebrov
Appointed as national team manager last year, Serhiy Rebrov has settled in quickly as Ukraine boss, winning six and drawing three of his opening 10 matches. And while English fans might recognise him best from his playing career at Tottenham and West Ham, Rebrov's managerial career has been just as impressive.
He's won league titles with Dynamo Kyiv, Ferencvaros and Al Ain, as well as other Cup competitions since starting out ten years ago. Reaching Euro 2024 certainly helped improve his stock, too.
Ukraine's star player
Oleksandr Zinchenko
For the national team, Zinchenko is utilised as a midfielder, tasked with dictating play with his expert range of passing, all while leading the team as captain, too. His preferred position, Zinchenko has excelled on occasion for Ukraine in that role, especially with Everton full-back Vitaliy Mykolenko performing well on the left side of defence.
Zinchenko isn't alone in attacking areas, either, with Mykhailo Mudryk possessing the ability and potential to unlock defences with his dribbling, while Artem Dovbyk has proven for Girona this season that he is a deadly finisher. Still, it is Zinchenko who has the capability to keep everything ticking for Ukraine - without him, they'd certainly have less of a chance.
FAQs
How many players are Ukraine allowed to take to Euro 2024?
The Ukraine Euro 2024 squad will be comprised of 26 players, after UEFA announced in May that expanded teams will remain for the tournament in Germany. Initially, UEFA wanted squads to revert back to 23 players, but teams pushed back against that idea by arguing the demanding club schedules increases the risk of injury on smaller squads.
