Central Coast Mariners vs Perth Glory: Player Ratings

Topics

Perth Glory made it four wins from five games to start the 2014-15 A-League season with a 1-0 win over Central Coast Mariners on Sunday. But who was best on ground? Check out Griffin McMaster's ratings.

CENTRAL COAST MARINERS

LIAM REDDY – 7.5

Was safe and dominant off his line. The free was on his side but that ball was very well hit, a lot of keepers around the world would have had trouble stopping that one. Played well.

JACOB POSCOLIERO – 7

Game experience is benefitting him well, he’s improving as each match goes on and made some important challenges to keep them scoreless against.

STORM ROUX – 7.5

Did a good job. Challenges were good and passing was sound.

EDDY BOSNAR – 7

Commanded his area well, his experience helps the other three defenders as well.

MICHAEL NEILL – 6.5

Not a bad debut from the youngster, accounted for himself ok. Did get into the final third for attacks. Will benefit hugely.

ISAKA CERNAK – 6

Gets a rare start. Had a lot of space to exploit but no end product.

ANTHONY CACERES – 7

Nice passes in midfield, worked hard and a bit unlucky to be on the losing side.

NICK FITZGERALD – 6.5

Played high near enough as a number ten but not testing Vukovic enough.

JOHN HUTCHINSON – 7

Gives 100%. Rarely puts a bad shift in. Honest.

GLEN TRIFIRO – 7

Was the first point of attack in midfield for Mariners. Acquitted himself pretty well, off the ball worked hard to screen the hole.

MITCH DUKE – 7

Danger player. Seems to get into right place at right times, although today wasn’t to be his day on the scoresheet. Watch for big performances in the future.

SUBSTITUTES

MALICK MANE – N/A

On 78th. Came on 1-0 down to chase the game.

RICHARD VERNES – N/A

On 82nd.

MATTHEW SIM – 6

On for remaining half hour. Quiet.

PERTH GLORY

DANNY VUKOVIC – 7.5

Fumbled a shot late on in the first half but rebounded well with a double save to keep it clean.

MICHAEL THWAITE – 7.5

Held out well. Looked settled, confident on the ball. Pretty consistent player.

SCOTT JAMIESON - 7

Job do’er and acquitted himself well.

JOSHUA RISDON – 7.5

Job do’er most of the time and did well again today.

DINO DJULBIC – 8

Solid.

YOUSSOUF HERSI – 7

Played out on the left, cut in sometimes, can thread a good pass good awareness, still thinks he is settling into a different style of play from Wanderers needs more time.

NEBOJSA MARINKOVIC – 8

What a free kick! Not just that his passes he picked out for the front two McLaren and Keogh was very good. Got subbed? Must be for tactical.

ROSTYN GRIFFITHS – 6.5

Had a golden chance to score against his older club a tap in from 2 yards but couldn’t convert. Looked sluggish sometimes gave cheap possession. Although did a power of effort.

MITCH NICHOLS – 7

Links up well in midfield for Perth. Always looking to get into the game. Cramped up fairly late into the game. Was forced to come off.

ANDY KEOGH – 7

In good vein of form, didn’t get on the scoresheet but settled now at the club and playing with confidence

JAMIE MACLAREN – 7

Hit a good volley in the second half. Work rate in the final third good. Not disgraced.

SUBSTITUTES

DANNY DE SILVA – 7

On 72 mins. A striker there to help his team hold out a 1-0 win defensively did well.

RICHARD GARCIA – 7

On 74th.  Good player to come on in the circumstance. Did well.

DIOGO FERREIRA – N/A

On 77th.
