Socceroos to warm up against Croatia

Australia will warm-up for the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a friendly against Croatia, the European nation's FA confirmed on today.

The Socceroos face a country they have enjoyed success against in the past on June 6, with the host city in Brazil yet to be confirmed.

Ange Postecoglou's men meet European giants Spain and the Netherlands and one of South America's best teams in Chile in Group B.

If Australia and Croatia progress past the group stage, the teams could meet in the round of 16.

The last clash between the teams was at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, when a 2-2 draw was enough for Australia to finish second in the group.

Sonobich will most likely not play because his recent ranting and ban from FIFA.

Good choice of opponent. Ange doing the smart thing and not selecting an opponent from the very top shelf of world football. Just to be sure there isnt a repeat of the Brazil/France games... Well, fingers crossed anyway.
