Midfielder Mitch Nichols’ move to the Western Sydney Wanderers has been confirmed.
The five-time Socceroo has signed a two-year deal with the Wanderers after his stint at Japanese side Cerezo Osaka.
Nichols, 26, was on loan at Perth Glory last season – making 14 appearances for Kenny Lowe’s men.
Wanderers chief executive John Tsatsimas is excited by what Nichols will add in the attacking third for Tony Popovic’s side.
“Mitch has an impressive history in the A-League and his six seasons with Brisbane produced some excellent results including two championships,” he said.
“He has an unpredictable ability with the ball at his feet which makes him dangerous and his work rate off the ball is a part of his game that often goes unnoticed.
“With over 150 A-League games under his belt and at 26 he is at a prime age for our squad as we reassert ourselves in the competition this season.”
Nichols becomes the Wanderers’ sixth addition in an off-season of change.
Scott Jamieson, Andreu Guerao Mayoral, Scott Neville, Jacob Pepper and Andrew Redmayne have also joined.comments
