Western Sydney Wanderers have bolstered their squad with the signing of Spanish midfielder Andreu Guerao Mayoral on a two-year-deal.
The former Barcelona youth product spent 12 years with the Catalan giants and made his first team debut in 2004 against Olympique de Marseilles during a tour of France.
He had a guest stint with Auckland City in the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup but has spent the last two seasons with Spanish outfit Racing Santander.
With Santander, he earnt promotion from the Segunda B and reached the Quarter Finals of the 2013/14 Copa del Rey.
Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas has welcomed the injection of Spanish flair to the A-League outfit.
“Andreu has spent time at clubs such as Barcelona and Malaga and we’re excited to add this sort of football pedigree to the playing squad,” Tsatsimas said.
“It is important to get players of the calibre of Andreu to add a significant backbone to our squad in the middle of the park.
“We look forward to welcoming Andreu to our club when he arrives for pre-season training in the coming weeks.”comments
