Slovenia Euro 2024 squad: Matjaz Kek's full team ahead of the tournament
The Slovenia Euro 2024 squad is preparing for their first major tournament in 14 years
The Slovenia Euro 2024 squad is ready and raring to go in Germany, as the nation prepares for just their second-ever European Championship.
Slovenia's sole appearance at the Euros so far came back in 2000 – although they have qualified for two World Cups since then: 2002 and 2010.
There's reason for optimism within the Slovenia Euro 2024 squad, too, with Jan Oblak in goal and promising striker Benjamin Sesko up front and ready to plunder as many strikes past hapless goalkeeper as possible at Euro 2024 this summer.
Qualification was competitive, too, with Kazakhstan and Finland both battling Slovenia and Denmark for the automatic spots. The latter two eventually prevailed, though those tests could stand the Slovenia Euro 2024 squad in good stead.
Matjaz Kek has developed a well-drilled national team, too, ready for a few upsets on the continet. They face qualifying opponents Denmark in Group C, as well as tough opponents in England and Serbia. While many don't expect them to progress to the knockout stages, anything can happen in tournament football.
A 2-0 statement win against Portugal in a recent friendly indicates they have quality on their day, though every Euro 2024 squad contains some form of talent that will look trouble the opposition in some way or another this summer.
As with every team at Euro 2024, FourFourTwo will bring you all the latest on Slovenia as we report live from the European Championship, including all the fixtures, how to watch every game and what the state of the group stages are in after each match.

Slovenia Euro 2024 squad numbers
The Slovenia Euro 2024 squad numbers will be announced closer to the tournament kicking off.
Slovenia manager: Matjaz Kek
In his second spell in charge of Slovenia, having managed the nation at the 2010 World Cup, Kek took over again in 2018. Now 62, Kek has won trophies in Croatia and Slovenia as manager, and has also taken charge of Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
The Slovenian is well-liked by his squad, too, with a record eight-game unbeaten spell in 2020 highlights his ability to galvanise a squad that is arguably lacking in quality.
Slovenia's star player
Jan Oblak
Without the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, there's simply no way that Slovenia would have survived in the qualifying group, let alone at Euro 2024 itself. He's regarded as one of the greatest keepers of his generation, pulling off wonder saves on a regular basis to keep his team in games.
Plus, he's the captain of the Slovenia Euro 2024 squad, the leader who will attempt to drive his side on during difficult moments in games. Though he's yet to feature at a major international tournament, his experience in the Champions League will be invaluable this summer.
