Manchester City striker Erling Haaland continued his incredible scoring streak with a brace for the champions in their 3-1 win over Brighton at the Etihad on Saturday.

Haaland came into the match with 20 goals to his name in all competitions and 15 in the Premier League, although he and City had failed to convert in last weekend's 1-0 loss to Liverpool.

The Norwegian soon showed that was merely a blip as he latched onto a long ball from goalkeeper Ederson, knocked over Adam Webster with his body strength en route to goal and rolled the ball into the empty net to give City the lead.

City later won a penalty, which Haaland converted with an unstoppable left-footed drive into the corner to make it 2-0.

Pep Guardiola's side went on to win the game 3-1 and their work this season has been made easier by Haaland's brilliance in front of goal.

The 22-year-old now has 17 in just 11 Premier League games, matching the total scored by Tottenham's Harry Kane last term – in 26 fewer appearances than the England captain.

He has also matched the Premier League tally racked up by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in his first season in England – in 26 fewer appearances than the Frenchman.

In total, Haaland has 22 goals in all competitions this term and has been especially prolific at the Etihad, scoring three, three, one, three, two, one and two in his last seven games at home.

Overall, 14 of his 22 goals have been scored at the Etihad and he is on target to break all sorts of records this season.
