Antonis pulls out of Olyroos squad

The Olyroos have been forced into a late squad change with Awer Mabil coming in for injured Terry Antonis.

Mabil, signed for FC Midtjylland in the Danish Super League recently, while Antonis is based in Greece with PAOK FC.

Aurelio Vidmar’s men arrived in Istanbul ahead of their upcoming match against Turkey’s  U21 national team in preparations for January’s Olympic qualifiers in Doha.

The teams will play in the Gelibolu Dostluk Kupasi (Gallipoli Friendship Cup) on Friday, which coincides with the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign.

While in Turkey, the Australians will also hold a special training session with athletes from the Turkish Disabled Sports Federation as part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, year-long cultural festival ‘Australia in Turkey 2015’.

The Olyroos will then face FYR Macedonia in Skopje on September 7.
