Brisbane Roar forward Henrique has been ruled out for the remainder of the A-League season as the finals contenders received mixed injury news.
The Brazilian underwent a full knee reconstruction on Thursday after injuring his ACL in the Roar's AFC Champions League draw against Suwon Bluewings on March 18.
In a statement, the Roar said Henrique "is not expected to return to full training until later in the year".
That is a huge blow to the Roar, with Henrique their leading goalscorer this season with eight A-League goals.
In other bad news, defender Jerome Polenz is facing up to a month on the sidelines.
However, there was some good news for Frans Thijssen's men, who are eight points outside the top six but do have a game in hand.
Thomas Broich (ankle) and Michael Theo (quad) are both scheduled to resume full training in the coming week.
It remains uncertain as to whether the duo will be available for Brisbane's next game, a clash against the Central Coast Mariners on Thursday.comments
