What do you get when a bunch of miked-up former football greats face-off with no outs, no dismissals and unlimited substitutions? The inaugural Legends of Football tour AND it's coming to Australia.
Aussie fans can now book their seats for the January 2015 tournaments to see their former heroes from Manchester, Liverpool and the Socceroos.
Ex-Leeds United, Newcastle United, Sunderland Striker, Jets and Australian football personality Michael Bridges will guest with the Aussie Legends.
“Since we launched The Legends of Football Tour we’ve had a great response,” Bridges said.
“This style of football has been a resounding success in Europe and Asia – Australian fans are going to love it.
“The games are played on a pitch the size of an ice hockey rink…It’s skilful and it’s fast football. There’ll be great fan interaction and the players will be miked-up so it will be very entertaining.”
With live commentary, big screens and three star-studded line-ups it’s a chance to wind back the clock for three hours of non-stop entertainment.
“We have already announced some huge names in Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Robbie Fowler, Patrik Berger, Scott Chipperfield and David May,” Bridges said.
“We’ll be progressively announcing more over the coming weeks so stay tuned.”
The Legends of Football Tour includes two feature tournaments at Allphones Arena on Saturday January 10 and Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Friday January 16.
Tickets to the tournaments are available from Ticketek or online at www.legendsoffootball.com.au
