The Dockerty Cup has returned to Lakeside Stadium for the first time in twenty years after South Melbourne defeated Oakleigh Cannons 3-0 in a one-sided final on Sunday afternoon.
Just days after being knocked out of the FFA Cup Round of 32, South Melbourne put their woes behind them to seal a first Victorian Cup win since 1995 - their eighth in total.
South were just too strong for their opponents in the end, scoring all three goals in the second-half after the first 45 was scoreless.
Milos Lujic opened the scoring just minutes into the second 45 after he was found in the box thanks to a cheeky back-heel from Stephen Hatzikostas.
Lujic added a second only minutes later, heading home from Nick Epifano's corner-kick.
The two goals in quick succession took the wind out of Oakleigh, with South adding a third on the hour mark through Leigh Minopoulos.
In the NPL Victoria South Melbourne remain third, five points behind leaders Bentleigh Greens but still possess a game in hand.
