Sydney FC reveal 2015/16 squad numbers

Sydney FC have handed Serbian World Cup veteran, Milos Ninkovic, the No 10 jersey last worn by international marquee Alessandro Del Piero (2012-2014).

The Sky Blues revealed their squad numbers on Thursday with just over a month to go until their 2015/16 A-League season kicks off against Melbourne City at home on October 10.

Last season’s Championship runners-up will begin their campaign with nine new faces.

Ninkovic, Slovakian World Cup striker and international marquee Filip Holosko, Matt Simon, Zac Anderson and rising young stars Andrew Hoole, Brandon O’Neill, Riley Woodcock, Jacob Tratt and Alex Mullen have been brought into thr squad.

Holosko will assume the No. 21 jersey last worn by 2014/15 Golden Boot Marc Janko, while former Central Coast Mariner, Zac Anderson, will wear No. 4 as he looks to recapture his form under coach Graham Arnold.

Hoole, Tratt, O’Neill, Woodcock, Simon, and Mullen will wear 7, 12, 13, 16, 18 and 29 respectively.

Of the returning players, seven have shifted playing numbers from their 2014/15 allocation.

Young gun Christopher Naumoff takes the vacated No. 11 jersey, previously worn by Bernie Ibini, while released (now-returned) goalkeeper Ivan Necevski moves to No. 20. Fellow glovesman Vedran Janjetovic has been handed the No. 1 jersey.

Alex Gersbach, Robert Stambolziev, Jacques Faty and George Blackwood have also assumed new numbers.
