Western Sydney Wanderers add Brazilian flair

Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the signing of a 23-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder for the next two A-League seasons.

Vitor Saba, who most recently represented Brescia Calcio in Italy's Serie B, joins the Wanderers in a deal that runs through to the end of the 2015-16 Hyundai A-League season.

The Brazilian began his career for Flamengo in Brazil before earning a deal in Italy's second division. Saba made over thirty appearances in all competitions for Brescia, but only made four starts in the 2013-14 season.

Saba becomes the third senior off-season signing by Wanderers coach Tony Popovic, along with Dean Bouzanis and Antony Golec.

“We have been monitoring Vitor since our inception and we’re very happy to have him join the Wanderers in our third season,” said new Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas.

“He is a young, versatile and attack minded player who wants to achieve big things.

“Vitor suits our style of play, he suits our club culture and he brings a certain x-factor to the team. We are very much looking forward to watching him take the next step in his career with the Wanderers.”

The 23-year-old will fly to Australia and commence training with his new teammates in the coming weeks.
