Arsenal head across London on Monday night needing at least a point to reclaim fourth place, but Gunners legend and Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira stands in their way.
The Frenchman has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the Selhurst Park dugout, and led his side to a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions ahead of the visit of his former club.
However, Arsenal are also in fine form, having won six of their last seven Premier League outings to put themselves in prime position to qualify for the Champions League.
Tottenham climbed above their north London rivals into fourth on goal difference on Sunday with a 5-1 win over Newcastle, but Mikel Arteta’s side have two games in hand.
Palace come into the game in 12th place but could go as high as ninth with a win, and they impressed in their last league game by holding leaders Manchester City to a 0-0 draw.
Vieira’s side boast an impressive recent defensive record, keeping clean sheets in their last three games in a row.
They haven’t conceded more than once in any fixture since a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on 23 January.
However, they will have to overcome poor recent history in this fixture as they haven’t won any of their last five meetings with Arsenal, drawing four and losing one, a run stretching back to April 2019.
