Pics: Australia v Ecuador

Australia squandered a 3-0 win at half-time to lose 4-3 against Ecuador in London this morning, but despite the second half collapse, there were plenty of positives to take from the match.

A largely experimental Socceroos side dominated the first half with the new defensive line up holding its own well against a lacklustre Ecuador and Tim Cahill proving unstoppable in attack.

His brace and new skipper Mile Jedinak's penalty looked to have Australia in the box seat after 45 minutes, but a four man switch for Ecuador at half-time and a red card for subbed on keeper Mitch Langerak quickly exposed Australia's vulnerabilities.

Despite that, a strong attacking performance and effective passing game gave hope for the future. Catch up with the match action in our gallery by clicking on the links below. Pics by Getty Images.
