Roda JC Kerkrade have confirmed Socceroos striker Tomi Juric will miss the next four to six weeks with a knee injury.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury last Thursday during the club’s winter training camp in Portugal and immediately flew back to the Netherlands for scans.
The Dutch club confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Juric has suffered a torn lateral ligament in his right knee.
The news is a blow with the Eredivisie set to resume this weekend, with Roda JC hosting AZ Alkmaar on Saturday.
The injury is unlikely to affect Juric’s availability for Australia’s next match, a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Tajikistan in Adelaide in late March.
However, it is a setback for Juric who is eager to impress, given he is on a one-year deal at Roda JC after joining the club in August.
The ex-Western Sydney Wanderers hitman has done well during his time at the club, with seven goals in 12 appearances and is likely to attract a new contract offer.comments
