Drenthe says sorry for crunching Beltran

MADRID - Real Madrid midfielder Royston Drenthe has apologised to Marc Bertran for the tackle that fractured a bone in the Tenerife defender's leg and put him out of action for three to four months.

Bertran was felled by a crunching foul from the Dutchman in the first half of Real's 3-0 win at the Bernabeu on Saturday and had to be substituted.

"That's football and these things happen but when they do it's normal to feel a bit bad," Drenthe said on Real's website. "That's why I wanted to talk to him and tell him that it was not intentional and he said that was the most important thing."
