Scottish Championship leaders Hearts are out to spring a surprise and end Celtic’s three-year stranglehold on the Scottish Cup when the two sides meet in Sunday’s final.
In a strange occasion, the final of the 2019/20 competition is taking place midway through the 2020/21 season, due to the suspension of Scottish football during the coronavirus pandemic.
An empty Hampden Park will be the venue for a clash between two of Scotland’s biggest clubs, with Neil Lennon’s side big favourites.
The Hoops have shown signs of a recovery lately with back-to-back wins against Lille and Kilmarnock easing some of the pressure that was piled on the players and management after a five-game winless run.
But Hearts showed their class by knocking out top-flight city rivals Hibernian in extra time in October’s semi-final, and come into the game in good form.
The Jambos, who were sent down a division after the league table was frozen in place last season while they were bottom, are four points clear at the top of the second division table.
