Fulham will be aiming to build on some encouraging recent results by recording a win over Southampton that could lift them out of the relegation zone on Boxing Day.
The Cottagers are languishing in 18th place in the table with just two victories in 14 matches and are two points adrift of safety.
But they are unbeaten in three league games after holding Liverpool, Brighton and Newcastle to draws, conceding just twice during that run.
They face a big challenge against Ralph Hassenhutl’s high-flying Saints, but the visitors travel to London on the back of a defeat.
Southampton have taken just one point from their last two games, drawing with Arsenal and losing 1-0 at home to Manchester City.
That has left them down in seventh place, although Saints head into the Boxing Day round of fixtures just two points outside the top four.
Southampton record a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage in the League Cup last season and won their last Premier League meeting 2-0 in February 2019, but the last league clash at Fulham’s home ground finished 3-2 to the Cottagers in November 2018.
