But who exactly is the man of the moment for Murat Yakin's side?

Manzambi was already one to watch for the Swiss after becoming the youngest player in their current 26-man World Cup squad by comfortably over two years.

The 20-year-old has been billed as an all-action midfielder due to his ability to score goals, create chances and win possession while routinely taking on opponents at will.

Despite being born in Geneva to parents from Angola and DR Congo, Manzambi rose through the ranks with Freiburg and made a first-team breakthrough in 2024.

His emergence coincided with the appointment of head coach Julian Schuster, who missed out on Champions League qualification by just two points in his first season.

In his first two seasons with the Bundesliga outfit, Manzambi racked up nine goals and seven assists as the Breisgau Brazilians reached the Europa League final.

He not only scored their second goal in the semi-final against Braga to help tip the balance with a 4-3 aggregate but also shone in the showpiece defeat to Aston Villa.

Manzambi's international exploits were already something of a worst-kept secret even before extending his tally to five goals in 13 outings for Switzerland.

His exploits against Bosnia and Herzegovina wrote his name into the history books as the youngest-ever substitute to score multiple goals in a World Cup fixture.

Napoli, Chelsea and Manchester United were already previously credited with an interest in Manzambi but those potential suitors will only swell after his latest heroics.
