Reading will be backed by 2000 fans when they take to the Madejski Stadium pitch to face struggling Nottingham Forest in the Championship on Saturday.
Nine clubs in English football’s second division fall into the tier two category, where a limited number of supporters can return to football grounds, including the Royals.
And the small crowd will hope to push their side back towards the top of the table, as they go into the game just one point behind the automatic promotion spots.
Reading managed to halt their slump recently by going unbeaten in their last three games, and they drew 1-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.
But Forest go into the game at the other end of the table, hovering just above the relegation zone in 21st place after a four-match winless run that included three defeats.
The visitors haven’t won in any of their last five trips to the Madejski and have mustered just one away victory so far this season.
However, Scotland international Scott McKenna is expected to return for Forest after injury, while Tyler Blackett, Samba Sow and Lewis Grabban have returned to training.
Yakou Meite could return for Reading, but John Swift and George Puscas remain sidelined.
