Adam Taggart's professional Fulham debut has been delayed after he did not travel with the squad for their Championship opener on Sunday morning (AEST).
The striker is suffering from a lower abdominal problem and was left out of the squad set to face Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Taggart, 21, joined Fulham from Newcastle Jets in the off-season after finishing as the A-League's top-scorer in the 2013-14 season.
The clash against Ipswich is set to be the first time Fulham have not played a league match in the top flight in 13 years.
New Fulham boss Felix Magath will likely hand a debut to new £11million signing Ross McCormack but will be without a number of stars from last season.
No player from last seasons opening day clash against Sunderland is set to feature for Fulham, with goalkeeper Martin Stekelenburg and forwards Kostas Mitroglou and Bryan Ruiz reportedly keen to leave the club.
Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy has a few headaches of his own with midfielders Cameron Stewart and Stephen Hunt ruled out through injury as well doubts over Tommy Smith, Paul Anderson and Jonathan Parr.
