Adelaide United vs Wellington Phoenix: Player Ratings

Adelaide United scored a last minute winner to defeat Wellington Phoenix on Saturday afternoon. Check out Griffin McMaster's ratings from the game.

EUGENE GALEKOVIC – 7 Could not be blamed for the goal. Otherwise had a quiet match.

OSAMA MALIK – 7.5 Stocks growing by the week. Impressed. A little bit lucky to stay on the park though.

TAREK ELRICH – 7.5 Helped set-up Adelaide’s first goal with a great corner.

CRAIG GOODWIN – 7.5 Hit a good free kick in the first half that forced a good save from Moss. Got balls into the box and did well.

NIGEL BOOGAARD – 8  Made up for things after the Phoenix goal with a solid header to level the scores. Made a great tackle on 79 minutes to deny Cunningham a clear one-on-one.

MARCELO CARRUSCA – 6 We expect so much from him now. Didn’t have the day that we normally expect.

ISAÍAS – 7.5 Was conducting the midfield with distribution out wide for the flanks to penetrate. Work off the ball well.

JAMES JEGGO – 6 Tried to get forward but I haven’t seen a lot. Shooting is his downfall.

PABLO SÁNCHEZ – 5 Didn’t see him.

SERGIO CIRIO – 8 Played on the left and made some good runs. Exposed Wellington’s defence and was pretty sharp. The miss was bad but in the last minute scored the match winner!

AWER MABIL – 7.5 Improved effort upon recent weeks. Got down the right hand side and exploited the Phoenix defence on a number of occasions. Fan favourite.

BRUCE KAMAU – 5.5 Came on in the second half and threatened.

DYLAN MCGOWAN – 6.5 On fairly late and it was his header that set-up Cirio for the winner.

FABIO FERREIRA – 6 Came on for Mabil on the hour mark and played well.

GLEN MOSS – 7.5 Made some decent saves to help keep his team in the game in the first half when needed. Couldn’t blame for the goals.

ANDREW DURANTE – 7 Had a consistent game.

BEN SIGMUND – 6.5 Went missing on a number of occasions. It’s very difficult to defend Adelaide when they pour numbers into the box.

JOSH BRINDELL-SOUTH – 6 Got exposed a fair bit down the flanks and is learning what the league is about.

MANNY MUSCAT – 6 Playing pretty versatile positions in recent weeks.

VINCE LIA – 7 Plays the dirty role of which he’s suited to making a fair few tackles, off the ball did well.

ALBERT RIERA – 6.5 Didn’t see a lot of the ball but again like Lia does the dirty work. Second half was good.

ALEX GORRIN – 6 Again taken off. Did not contribute much.

NATHAN BURNS – 6.5 Looked sharp but game involvement was a bit quiet.

ROY KRISHNA – 5 Didn’t get much service. Didn’t see the ball. Did set-up Phoenix's goal though.

ROLY BONEVACIA – 8 Good player. Gaining more confidence into this season. Scored a cracker of a goal to take the lead. Work rate is superb.

MATTHEW RIDENTON – 5.5 Came on after 73 minutes.

ALEX RUFER – 6 Nephew of Winton Rufer. Gets an opportunity.

KENNY CUNNINGHAM – 6  Been in good form in recent games. Can thread a clever ball.
